Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 10, 2026
This policy is written to be clear about what Grocery Sanity needs to run the product, especially grocery, pantry, recipe, and AI-assisted planning data.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Veliqon collects, uses, shares, and protects information through Grocery Sanity. Grocery Sanity helps users find grocery deals, plan meals, manage pantry items, reduce food waste, and build shopping lists.
This policy applies to Grocery Sanity websites, mobile experiences, browser extensions, AI-assisted features, and related services that link to this policy.
2. Information we collect
Account information, such as name, email address, login identifiers, and authentication data handled by our sign-in provider.
Household shopping information, such as ZIP code or general shopping location, preferred stores, budget settings, serving count, pantry items, shopping lists, recipes, meal plans, dietary preferences you choose to provide, and grocery deal interactions.
Content you submit, such as flyer images, recipe text, URLs, notes, receipts, product details, or other information you ask Grocery Sanity to parse or organize.
Device and usage information, such as browser type, device type, pages viewed, feature usage, error logs, approximate diagnostics, cookies, and similar technologies used to operate and improve the service.
3. How we use information
We use information to operate Grocery Sanity, authenticate users, save preferences, recommend deals and recipes, build meal plans and shopping lists, estimate savings, reduce waste, troubleshoot problems, prevent abuse, improve product quality, and communicate with users.
We may use automated or AI-assisted systems to parse grocery flyers, recipes, pantry items, product details, and user-submitted content so the app can return useful meal planning and shopping suggestions.
4. AI-assisted processing
When you use AI-assisted features, information you submit may be processed by model providers or infrastructure vendors acting on our behalf. We aim to send only the information needed to provide the requested feature.
Do not submit sensitive information that is not needed for grocery planning, such as government IDs, payment card numbers, medical records, or confidential business information.
5. How we share information
We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us provide hosting, authentication, analytics, AI processing, database storage, security, customer support, email delivery, and payment processing.
We may share information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate misuse, in connection with a business transaction, or with your direction or consent.
We do not sell personal information. We do not currently share personal information with grocery stores for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Store data, trademarks, and independence
Grocery Sanity may display or process store names, product names, flyer details, sale prices, coupons, logos, and other retail information to help users plan grocery shopping.
Store and brand trademarks belong to their respective owners. Grocery Sanity is not currently affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, authorized by, or officially connected with any grocery store, retailer, delivery service, marketplace, brand, manufacturer, or coupon provider unless we clearly state otherwise.
7. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember ZIP code and budget preferences, preserve shopping and meal planning state, measure performance, and protect the service.
Your browser or device settings may let you block or delete cookies, but some Grocery Sanity features may not work properly without them.
8. Data retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide Grocery Sanity, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and improve the service.
Retention periods may vary by data type. For example, account records may be kept while your account is active, while logs and diagnostics may be kept for shorter periods unless needed for security or debugging.
9. Your choices
You may update account settings, grocery preferences, pantry items, meal plans, and shopping list information through the app where those controls are available.
You may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of personal information by contacting us. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. We will not discriminate against you for exercising rights provided by applicable privacy laws.
10. Children
Grocery Sanity is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee perfect security, and users should use strong passwords and keep account credentials private.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as posting the new effective date or providing in-app notice.
